The Cadet program is an organization meant to provide youth with a structured, welcoming environment to learn new skills, meet new people, and become outstanding citizens in their communities. Air Cadets specifically receive classes on aviation and aerospace materials and once old enough, have the opportunity to apply for pilot training.
Cadets are loaned uniforms at no cost by the Department of National Defense (DND), and are expected to wear these uniforms during certain activities. Cadets are responsible for maintaining their uniforms in accordance with proper dress standards. Cadets are expected to maintain respectful conduct while representing the program.
Youth who join the Cadet program are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), and are under no obligation to join the CAF in the future.
To join the Cadet program, you must:
be between the ages of 12 to 18 inclusive
be a legal resident of Canada
have government-issued identification
have parent/guardian consent
The program has no registration fees. We do ask that you participate in occasional fund-raising activities.
